Last fall ASU students had the chance to take a course focused solely on patterning metals with Tedd McDonah. Tedd's expertise in this area was evident to the group, as we got the chance to see his work with patterned metals first hand. We learned how to create mokume gane and damascus steel billets, and were instructed on many different ways of patterning. The class entailed lots of hard work, but was completely worth it. 29th Annual Mesa Contemporary Crafts
We would love to see you at the opening reception for the Mesa Contemporary Crafts show! The exhibition space is beautiful and the show is always very good. This year is especially exciting as several ASU artists are participating, including; Victoria Altepeter, Lynette Andreasen, Jonathan Brown, Lauren McAdams, Becky McDonah, Tedd McDonah, and Clare Verstegen!
The reception starts at 6pm on January 25th.
"Highlighting the finest in contemporary crafts from around the country, the 29th Annual Contemporary Crafts exhibition has become a benchmark for innovation and quality. This year’s exhibition showcases 58 artworks by 21 artists from 20 states. These artists work in traditional craft mediums including ceramics, fibers, basketry, metals, wood, glass, jewelry, papermaking, and book arts.
